As a certified player agent, Ritch Winter is known for being a trailblazer for fair practice between owners, players and agents. Winter has fought to advance the causes for players by initiating the publication of salaries, recovery of pension monies and stronger Player Association leadership. While seeing the business side of hockey become more important to the sport, Ritch Winter and Brian Burke co-founded the Business of Hockey Institute (BHI) and partnering with Athabasca University. This Executive MBA features the latest hockey-specific courses that reflect the ever-evolving business of the sport. Prior to his role as President for Wintersports Ltd., he ran an Edmonton-based firm called The Sports Corporation for almost 30 years.
