Former President, Rogers Sportsnet
Doug Beeforth was the President of Rogers Sportsnet from 2000-2010, leading it to become the Canadian broadcasting giant it is today.
Beeforth’s accomplished career began as a news and sports announcer at CFRB radio in the late 1970s, after which he migrated to television as a producer with Hockey Night in Canada. While working as a hockey executive producer at the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics, Beeforth revolutionized how hockey is televised with the development of the “net cam,” which is now used in hockey broadcasts around the world.
In 2006, Beeforth received the Sports Media Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to sports broadcasting.
