President and General Manager – Toronto Raptors

Masai Ujiri has acted as the President and General Manager of the Toronto Raptors (NBA) since 2013. Prior to this, Ujiri spent three seasons as the Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations for the Denver Nuggets (NBA). In 2013, he was awarded the NBA Executive of the Year following the Nuggets’ 57-win season. Earlier, Ujiri earned his first front office position with the Raptors in 2007 when he was named the Director of Global Scouting. Before this, Ujiri played college basketball in the United States at Bismarck State and Montana State University-Billings. He then went on to play professional basketball in five different countries in Europe. On a humanitarian level, he is the founder of the Giants of Africa Foundation and has also been the director of the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders program since 2002. A native of Nigeria, Ujiri is the first African-born General Manager in North America’s four major professional sports.
